Genesis10 is seeking a Sr. Mortgage Underwriter for our client in the Financial Services industry. This is a 6 month contract position is located in St. Petersburg, FL. Can be 100% remote.

W2 Hourly Pay rate range: $40-$42/hr

Description: Underwrites credit package and makes loan decisions for residential lending applications up to the loan amount authority established by the Company's Bank Board of Directors.
Underwrites credit package and prepares recommendation for presentation to Loan Committee, ensuring compliance with Company, state, federal and if applicable, agency and investor guidelines.


Responsibilities: May reviews and analyze real estate appraisals for acceptance in connection with residential loan transactions.
Maintains knowledge of Company Bank loan programs, as well as secondary market investors' underwriting/documentation requirements.
Interacts professionally with clients, associates and financial advisors to provide professional client service upholding the Service 1st philosophy.
Obtains, prepares, and reviews documents for origination and processing phases of residential loans.
Coordinates the approval of underwriting conditions/exceptions. Reviews the file prior to closing.
Analyzes tax returns and financial statements and review title commitments.
Exercises independent judgment allowing for minimal supervision of work functions while working directly with Lending Manager(s).
May interact with mortgage insurance company liaisons to approve high loan-to-value loans.
Reviews and analyzes procedures surrounding more efficient and cost-effective ways of handling workflow.
Adheres to policies as established by management.
Provides information and assistance to loan applicants, as well as interacts with CPA's, financial advisors, and other parties to complete the transaction when necessary.
Perform day-to-day monitoring of underwriting file workflow to ensure the expectations of clients, financial advisors, partners including sales, processing, support staff and vendors are met.
Keeps management apprised of workflow, and special project developments. Communicates and coordinates changes in policy and procedures that affect other partners/departments.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.



Requirements: Data analysis

Organizational skills, including a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Effective oral and written communications sufficient to convey details on various mortgage loan products and processes
Word processing, spreadsheet and typing sufficient to produce spreadsheets with basic formulas
Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications
Bachelors degree and a minimum of six (6) years of residential mortgage underwriting experience.--- OR --- An equivalent combination of education, training or experience as approved by Human Resources.
